While waiting for the picture of Melvin to load, I wondered what he was. Another cat? A Dog? A new baby that one of the girls had? I eliminated "Owl", "Raccoon" and "next door neighbor".
It took a long time, but finally the pic came through.
OK, I was joking when I said "new Baby". Apologies to Kathryn and Eliza. Even if you had managed to bring a baby full term since last I saw Alan (two weeks?), I doubt very much if you had named him Melvin.
From the photo, I would say that Melvin is a hamster, or closely related to one. No apologies necessary, Jan. Our current babies are feline: I have Troy & Calvin (Butter), Kathryn has Sam (Poo) & Sophie (Nugget). :)

Whatever their status, they do keep me home (or close to home) a lot, and encourage explorations of therapeutic activities, such as photography and blogging.

Hee hee! This photo just totally made my day! :)
I'll have to come by & meet Melvin soon, if he is up for visitors.
Melvin wants a hard hat.
He likes to watch the construction people next door.
Especially the big machinery.

I think melvin would be a very satisfactory name for a baby.
